I am excited to share that I recently attended the AGU Conference, where I had the privilege of presenting our work, “Evaluating Community Well-being and Resilience via Agent-Based Models”.

In this computational study, we used simulation to assess resilience in remote communities under the challenges posed by climate change. Our findings suggest that smaller communities with smaller households are more resilient and that critical infrastructure components can be identified for targeted maintenance to boost resilience. These findings are an important step but require further validation in real-world settings.

This project was a wonderful collaboration with the brilliant Dr. Chris McComb and Dr. Ming Xiao, whose expertise and insights were instrumental in shaping our research. This project represents a collaborative effort between Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) and Penn State University.

I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such an important discussion and to connect with so many inspiring minds in the field.
